A ‘cool’ coworking environment in Orlando helps Chris Calabro build better business relationships

Chris Calabro

Chris Calabro is senior affiliates manager with Crush Ads, a firm that works with advertisers and marketers. Although the company is based in Boca Raton, Chris has his own office in CoLab Orlando. He recently shared some of his experiences with us through an email interview.

Tell us about yourself and your company.
I’m originally from Pennsylvania, but I moved to Orlando back in January of 2009. I graduated from the University of Kansas in 2005 with my BS in sports management. I started working in my industry (affiliate marketing) back in 2008 and have been at it ever since. My current company, Crush Ads, is actually located down in Boca Raton, but I have my own office here in Orlando at CoLab. To simply explain what we do is: We play the middle man between advertisers who are looking to generate leads and sales online and third-party marketers who can drive traffic to the advertisers’ sites.

What’s your favorite part of the job?
Interacting with people and building relationships with them. Some of my current clients, I’ve worked with at multiple companies over the last five years.

Tell us something interesting about yourself that many people don’t know.
I used to play the drums, but had to quit due to the multiple herniated discs in my back.

How long have you been at CoLab?
A year and a half.

Where were you before CoLab?
I worked at another company in the industry, but they had an office locally in Lake Mary.

How did you hear about CoLab?
Basically, I was just walking around the downtown area and checking out all of the buildings that had offices in them.

What made you want to use a coworking space?
I thought it would be fun to work in an environment with other small businesses that potentially had similar needs to me and could also help each other out.

What are your thoughts about the CoLab community?
I love it. Everyone is very friendly and willing to help out or lend a hand with anything when you need it. Very cool!
